HLSR Cook Off! February 24, 2012

This past Friday, we made our first ever trip to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Cook Off (basically the rodeo kick off, the weekend before the rodeo starts).  Our friend and Realtor, Andrea, invited us last year, but we couldn't go, this year, we couldn't miss out!

We invited Mitch and Chavanne to join us for the fun!

We started our adventures by taking one of the shuttles down to Reliant.  Though the traffic was still bad, we didn't have to deal with it.  We could just sit back and visit!

Once we go there, we braved the wind while we waited for Andrea to get us in (thanks again for the free access!) 

Once inside the grounds we headed to the Lost Villagers tent where we enjoyed some yummy BBQ!

After hanging around a little to take in the atmosphere, we headed back out into the cold to check out the carnival attractions!

I normally think the Ferris Wheel is a must do at a carnival, but since it was pretty chilly that night we decided to pass this time.

We then headed for the game where Matt won his Money Ball last year when we came to the rodeo to see Brad Paisely (http://aggietouchdown.blogspot.com/2011/04/lets-rodeohouston.html)
We felt like we had good odds and Matt wanted a new ball!

And he got it!

We walked around to see if there were any other games we wanted to try our hand at and say this guy.  You'll notice his feet are backwards.....figures :)

We then headed back to the bball game where I tried to win us another ball....no such luck

Chavanne tried....no luck for her either...

After playing our fill of games, we headed back to the tent for some dancing. 

Once we go tired we decided to head back to the line for the shuttle back to the car, when we ran into these guys!  (Cassie and Nick O'haver!!)  They had parked at the same shuttle location so we got to ride back with them and visit and hear about Nick's adventures in Africa, where he had recently gotten back from (work trip)!
